Embroidery Club  Cindi Luther, instructor. Our last session for the Kimberbell Digital Dealer Exclusives Collection 3. In this lesson we will be doing applique in the hoop with a little bit of fringe.  The design is available in 3 sizes from a 5" x 5" mug rug to an 8" x 8" trivet.  Background quilting is done in the hoop and a unique new way of adding the binding is shown.  This is such a fun project!

Lessons come directly to you from Kimberbell so if you miss a class you can always do it at home.  Open to all brands of embroidery machines as long as you know how to operate the machine.  Next session is Saturday, March 8, 9:30-12:30.  $15.00

Embroidery Bee:  You asked for it and we listened.  Beginning August 27, we will have the classroom available for you to bring your embroidery machines and projects so Cindi and Mana can answer your questions and help you complete that masterpiece.  This does not take the place of your guide class, you have to have some knowledge of embroidery techniques.  Plans are to meet the 4th Tuesday of each month  10:30 - 3:30.  $5.00 fee.  Please call to pre-register.

Pinpoint Placement Cindi Luther Instructor  Have you purchased a Bernina Plus machine and don't know how to use those great new features?  This class will address pinpoint placement and how you can benefit from using it.  We will stitch a design on a cotton tea towel and you will be amazed how straight it will be without using your templates! $15.00 

Skill School  Anne Robinson, instructor.

So, you want to learn to quilt? Then you need to come to Skill School! What is Skill School?  It is a 6-month (once a month) class that will take you from learning how to use a rotary cutter and rulers to having a completed quilt top by class 6. And in class 6 we cover basting, machine quilting, and binding! It truly is an A – Z class. (Plus, you make new friends in class!)

JELLY ROLL RUG  - Anne Robinson, instructor

 

Let's make a rug! One Jelly Roll, one roll of 2 1/2" batting, and a sewing machine with a zig zag stitch will create a gorgeous, durable rug for your home.

MOD DOGS by Colourwerx – instructor Anne Robinson

 

These doggies are so much fun to make! You'll strip piece without worrying about seam allowances or precision. You'll then learn how to use steam a seam to "stick" the dogs to the background. Then we'll cover machine applique by stitching around the dogs and the collars. Lastly if you choose to make the same border that I used in my Mod Dogs quilt we will cover paper piecing. If you wish to purchase the paper patterns you will need to make the border I used they will be available for $4.00. Join us on April 17 (Thursday) from 10:30 till 3:30. Class Fee $25.00

2.0 Project Bag - Anne Robinson, instructor



 

Join on and learn how to make this great project bag. The pattern is byannie and it's perfect for dipping your toe in bag making. If you already know how to make bags join us anyway!

FREE MOTION QUILTING/RULERWORK QUILTING 

During these classes we explore and practice ruler work quilting and free motion quilting techniques and designs. Learning to quilt using a machine is a process, for some it comes quickly for others it is more of a challenge. These classes are suitable for all skill levels and are arranged to help you achieve your quilting goals. Those who have struggled with traditional free motion quilting are usually delighted with the progress they make using rulers. Wednesday,  Feb. 5, Mar. 5, Apr. 9, May 7, June 4-10:30-12:30.  Friday, Mar. 28, Apr. 25, May 23, June 27-10:30-12:30, Sunday, Feb. 9, Mar. 9, Mar. 16, Apr. 13, Apr. 20, May 18, May 23, June 8, June 15 - 1:30-3:30.

*Please note: B475 and B480 are BSR compatible as are other models/ I will provide a BSR to use in class for these machines.  Monday March 31, 10:30-12:30.   Class fee $15.00, 

Class Policy

It has always been the policy of A Different Touch to pay for classes when you sign up for them. For a class to be offered during the daytime, there must be 3 students signed up and the class prepaid. For an evening or Sunday class there must be 5 students signed up and the class prepaid. If you cannot attend the class and you cancel one week prior to the date, you can have the class fee moved to another class or receive a refund. If you cancel after the allowable time, there will be no refund. It will be the instructor's decision to move the class fee to her next class.

We currently have several bees during the day and in the evening and we have the same requirements for attending bees. If you attend you must sign up and pay at the time of registration. If the bee or class is cancelled we need that information so we may contact you and let you know about the changes. If you fail to pre-register and the class or bee does not meet minimum attendance everyone will miss out on that opportunity. When you pay for a class the commitment is there to attend. If you are a regular member at any of our bees or classes, please make sure you call and sign up. All instructors will be grateful, knowing whether to be prepared or they have time off.
